Thoughts on functionality concerned with multiple users on the same computer
I've been thinking around a way to minimise the effects of trolls on the board - particularly those operating multiple accounts, and particularly given that I'd like to be building more stuff involving board-wide voting - and I'd like to check with people around one idea that could impact on groups of barbelites who regularly use the same computer to post to the board. Opinions please.

The new board has launched, it's full of bugs but at least it's out in the bloody open and that means that I can start thinking about something else for a change. Getting some new RAM for the site...
The main reason, it transpires, why this site gets so slow and clumsy is people spamming or hitting the server really hard. So as a consequence I've decided to get another $200 worth of RAM for the server, which hopefully will speed everything up substantially. Fingers crossed.

Some idiot is trying to download the whole site
Some bloody idiot out there on the wider web is hammering Barbelith this evening - downloading roughly ten-twenty pages a second with his bloody wget installation. It is pretty much bringing everything to a standstill. If you see problems around the place, this is why.
