I would really like to mod conversation because it's there my fingers most itch to tidy. I've put down the forums I visit the most. I've just finished work today and from now on I work from home. This means I'll have lots more time.

Bed, I understand what you say about moderators moderating everywhere but currently I only mod 2 forums so I don't feel like adding a few applies to me so much. Since you only moderate gathering but post excellent things in lots of forums I think you should put yourself down for more too. I like Tom's idea of adding a few new moderators after we've sorted ourselves out to broaden the field a bit.

Just to restate for people. EXISTING moderators can reorganise their moderatorships here by posting any fora they'd like to STOP moderating and any new fora they'd like to START moderating - based on the principle that they shouldn't really be moderating any more than SIX fora in total, and that those should be ones they really like and read most or all of the threads in.

People who would like to be NEW moderators are more than welcome to volunteer as well. New moderators will start off doing one or two fora only please. I reserve the right to veto new moderators handling the trickier fora and if any existing moderator is nervous about one of the new mods, can they contact me on private messaging to voice their concerns.

Oh and if existing mods can be VERY specific about the fora that they'd LIKE to cover (rather than just stating a range) that would also be preferable. I'd rather you were doing it because you cared a lot about the subject rather than because I'd randomly chosen two fora from your more general interests.

That leaves AFD and Gathering slightly underrepresented by moderators, but one is slow and the other impromptu, so it shouldn't matter that much, and brings things more in line..

To clarify: I was made moderator of 11 fora because, when the board was short of moderators (especially with the abdication or unavailability of Ganesh, GGM and sundry others and the ending of the admin system), I was the only person willing to do it who was trusted to do it. Because I'm nice. When and if the need arises again, I hope I'll be in a position to discharge whatever duties are required.
