Great interview. "I'm pissed and I'll be coming up on the drugs in half an hour. Keep an eye out for that."

I'm not always convinced of what GM says, but he's always entertaining when he says it.

Grant's been pretty Internet silent this year, eh?

Newsarama link lifted from the 7S thread. post-finale in-depth view of the maxi-series' themes, craft and who the hell are the 7 Unknown Men + Batman tidbits.

LOL, yeah. Still, I hope they're both doing well.

BTW, his latest Newsarama interview was wonderful. I loved it. Long and comprehensive and juicy. He put a lot of people's concerns to rest while giving us a nice peek into his work process. I love how he associates it with music; how writing can be as fluid and adaptive as the process of making music. It echoes a lot of what Jeff Noon was describing back in the 90s as to the potential of language and storytelling. Great stuff.

Short interview with Grant about Animal Man, and Buddy Baker's presence in 52 [wasn't sure if I should put this here or in the 52 thread]:

Grant and Buddy, two great tastes that taste great together.

We can never see inside their heads, but I know they both love each other a lot, LOL.

Do Grant's comments about mean that 52 will see the end of Buddy Baker...!?!?

That quick little Q&A makes me want to see a Morrison series that would boil down to: Decent Human Beings. Without being facetious, either. Clearly, he's got the talent to do it (seriously - writing a bunch of decent people being decent is hard; maybe only the potagonists, makes it a little easier, but when the antagonist is trying to do right, too? Do right by others, and themselves, and all? Aargh!) and he has an interest in the type. Just imagine...

Sherlock Holmes, eh?

You know, I've always wished that Morrison would try some writing and design in videogames again. And there's a new Sherlock Holmes computer game in the works that deals with the Great Detective venturing into the world of the Cthulhu Mythos -

No. I should stop right there. It's probably something else.

(But oh god if it were that)

just yesterday I was thinking that's been a while since a new interview surfaced, and what a nice internet x-mas gift that'd make...

So I’ve got four or five projects out from Vertigo next year.

wa-hoo!

Just posted to the Arthur Magazine Magpie blog (www.arthurmag.com/magpie/) the complete text of the lengthy cover feature interview with Grant that we ran in the pages of the mag back in 2004. Enjoy.

Care to tell me where is it?

Jay you fool! I was going to splash out for the back-issue for that interview soon, you just saved me a fiver. I might still get it though, it is a brilliant cover (the new issue was great btw, good work on the mag).

aaaannnnd... that was a great read. thanks, ARTHUR mag!

interestingly enough I've just stumbled the announcement of an Alan Moore book on Magic for 2009. [scroll down a bit]

that'll be enough reason for Morrison to rush his and get it released.

from the Arthur Mag interview linked above:

>> Japan’s reaction to immense post-War trauma was to dress itself up as a shrieking 16-year-old schoolgirl and make sure everything was pink and flashing!

Contender for 'best sentence in interview.' Thanks for the link! Good stuff, glad to have the opportunity to finally read this.

Well I typed in 'Top Shelf' and was ... diverted, briefly

I agree that Alan Moore's new material seems a lot more interesting than George's; it's just that one wonders when Alan's ever going to get it out, as it were?

Interesting news .....Morrison is going to a write a film adaptation of the arcade-game-turned-XBox-game AREA 51.

Many fans are already grousing about the excessive workload on Grant's seemingly already full plate...

Also, Morrison will be on the comics podcast Fanboy Radio talking about stuff.

Info. about the podcast

Sweet. This is gonna' be badass. Anyone going to fone in live to the show? I'd love to, but I've got a class at the same time. And even though I'm a badass, I can't skip it today.

But again: Area 51? GM? Badass, mothatruckas.

Keep it real.
