I've had no luck finding a JAMC version

It's on the second of their b-sides albums, and is actually pretty great. It sounds exactly how you'd expect it to; heavily fedback guitar, topped by a vocal from a guy that's apparently disgusted by the world, and everything in it.

I've not heard Nick Cave's take on it, or Leonard Cohen's, but the JAMC's morbidly sarcastic, fuzz-bassed reading of the thing sounded about right to these old ears, at the time.

Anyone else see Uncle Len on this tour? Saw him last night and was fucking blown away. His habit of introducing the band in every. fucking. song. got a bit wearing, but other than that he was awesome. And such a nice guy!

I saw him at Glastonbury, but was completely off my tits and only caught a song or two before being pulled off elsewhere by my feet.

Is shame.

i did wonder if he forgot whether or not he had already introduced them in a senior moment so did it again just in case. also seemed to be a warm humilty in it.

new dates now on sale for those who missed him.

Oh, I definitely got the impression he meant it sincerely every time. But as Ignatius said, imagine going to a barbecue at his house!

Fucking awesome. A friend may have a spare for November, and I'm seriously considering going again.
