Hi, i need some help.

My dad has been a scientist working for the government for the past 25 years, but just recently he's become terribly interested in the tarot. I was wondering if anyone could suggest a good book to break him into the deep end of the tarot, as it were. something with some antiquity but still accessible?

thanks!

I'm suggesting a move to the Magick as I think you'll get a better response there - hope you don't mind...

Hope Jay can find this thread here....

There's been some scholarship on Yeats and the Tarot, but depending on his field, some of the more mathematical/kabbalistic approaches might be more worthwhile.

I must admit I give you these with no personal knowledge of their actual worth[/head-hung low]

BUT! They sound like they might be what you are looking for...

The Tarot - A Key to the Wisdom of the Ages, Paul Foster Case :: 1947 Macoy Publishing Co., Richmond, VA

The Pictorial Key to the Tarot, Arthur Edward Waite :: Samuel Weiser Inc., York Beach, ME

Anyone with an opinion on the above books or other suggestions...

..which is probably the least accessable book on The Tarot I can think of.. maybe try the Rachel Pollack book 'The 78 Degrees of Wisdom' which I've heard some good things about.

Oooo! There's an online Tarot tutorial I used to have links to... lemme see if I can find it.

Better than any book.
