Help me with my wondering about the version of a song from "Hair"

Help me Barbelith, you're my only hope...

So, "Let The Sunshine In" is one of my favourite songs, a fact I'm reminded of by the fact that my mum-in-law has just given us a bunch of old records, the Best of The 5th Dimension amongst them. But I'm convinced that there's a great version of the song that doesn't start with "Aquarius", and is just a long groovy funky version of "Let The Sunshine In". Am I imagining it? If I'm not, who did it?

It's probably the Temptations, from 1969's The Temptations on Broadway. All Music Guide lists dozens of versions, mostly with the medley, but this (full title "Finale: Let the Sunshine In") seems your most likely bet.

God bless you.
