Anyone up for the Beltane Fire Festival, in Edinburgh tomorrow night? It's a pagan festival of sorts, apparently takes place every year. I'd never heard of it before, but according to the blurb:

After Hogmanay, the Beltane festival is arguably the biggest party in Edinburgh's calendar. It began life in the mid-Eighties as a re-enactment of an ancient fire festival on the top of Calton Hill in the heart of Edinburgh

Hey, that was actually alright. A dark sweaty club - it was quite an early 90s vibe. Err...There was a big screen with cyberdelic, Shamen LP cover-style visuals. And there was drum n bass music playing. We met Jill- your friend Angel- when we arrived, who almost immediately painted our faces -which was cool. I was a green-and-white faced celtic dude while my friend became a fiery avatar of Satan (well, it was that or Darth Maul).
Toddled around for a few hours and danced a bit. Left about 2 when it seemed to be going strong. Sorry if we missed you Toksik- should meet up soon, as we kind of agreed via each other's phone messages (I think). Ah well- the quest for a Scottish meet-up continues...

i think the other kids must think we are really lacking in commitment. i mean, they meet all the time and never have our trouble.

we made it up the hill after the club, and after a bit of shit weed got smoked, we wandered up arthurs seat.

it was freakin misty up there, though, and the view at the top was more akin to a sensory deprivation chamber than a hilltop.

you arent a mr mccann, are you?
