In the UK high street menswear=slacks/polo shirts/smart casual/ties with disney chars. urgh

It's filth! all of it! filth! This is probably the thread to mention my persistant anger at 90% of interesting t-shirts only being available in girls sizes - Grrr! Luckily, when I visited Camden at the weekend I discovered a shop that does completely ridiculous Jerry Cornelius wear, which I must own all of. The sort of clothes that I'm fairly certain didn't really exist in the 60s outside of peoples acid-crazed imaginations. At last I can properly live out my absurd Cornelius 60s mod fantasies!

Hell, I have enough trouble finding menswear that fits my peculiarly shaped frame in the bland/featureless-yet-attempt-at-stylish stuff I wear. It is a nightmare. I then baulk at spending, say, £50 on a fucking T-shirt like half the label-shops around demand. £50 for a PLAIN WHITE TSHIRT because it has the word DIESEL written on the inside? I have a beef about this.

I also have a plan to write the word "Carhartt" on all my clothing in order to up its value by £20.

Today it is cold enough for the olive-greeny-brown duffel coat. Yum. I feel better. Am peeved that I don't get to wear a suit in this workplace, but have an excuse to wear one saturday night which will make me very happy indeed.

Went out in Old Street on Sunday and felt so totally high street in comparison to all the fashionable young things - very depressing indeed. But I think I would look a bit daft if I tried to look too fashionable. Librarian dressed as lamb, etc.

No no no. You have to look all frumpy, so you can take off your glasses and let down your tresses and we can say: "W-why, Miss Kit-Cat Club... you're beautiful..."

Bengali, let's get one thing straight, I love Ann Demeulemeester's style of clothing and I now hate you.

KCC- brocade and tapestry! Forget Old Street and that rough style, go Chrestomanci and fabulous patterns!

Hurrah. Gap of push-up-bra gap filled. Its dark red with gold embroidery and pretty, and I have a new see-thruish cream top with low neck to go with it. Very christmassy. Doesnt seem very stable; boob may fall into turkey and sprouts and suchlike.

Gingerbop - I know you've fixed your fashion dilemma, but I noticed that wonder bra do a 'Pure' range which are push up even if they are not padded and that they went up extra sizes.

What I am wearing right now is a brown medium length skirt, a petrol blue sweater, plum tights and a really well cut black top underneath. The under layer is probably more important than the over layer because without my jumper on I look really smart (for me) today. I spent last week looking smart for work exp and now it's finished and I'd really rather it hadn't.

But yes - tights and a skirt to cheer me up. I have a tendency to get dressed in opaque tights and a really short skirt for the days I have to do dull things. Trousers are for days when I move about a lot and are therefore likely to be interesting.

I am wearing a teeth of the hydra t-shirt cause they are the only band i'll advertise for (www.teethofthehydra.com) and a pair of boxers with kisses on them. From an ex girlfriend, of course.

Band t-shirts can be a bit of a problem -I used to buy them obsessively (for every gig I went to, which wasn't as bad as it sounds since I didn't go to that many gigs...). I've given that up as it was getting expensive, and am therefore running out of t-shirts I can wear since I no longer wish to endorse, for example, Gene in public.

Today, I'm dressing for warmth, which is great now that I've got a fluffy jumper -it's cosier than a hoodie, which I had hitherto thought impossible. Also wearing mittens (not right now, obviously...) and my coat which may as well be a duvet. Nothing to fear from Scottish weather, then...

Ta harmony. One of them was a wonderbra pure (thought they only went up to d, but alas not), and the other is a really pretty elle macpherson willow-patterned one. Reduced from £30, to £4:50, hurrah!

I love work. When I cover the lingerie ladie's breaks, i can have a good rummage.

Oh that's ace. I have resigned myself to spending a serious chunk of money once every year / nine months / when I remember. Bra's are just not something you can skimp on.

I twigged my biggest wardrobe gap - smart(ish) shoes. I do own shoes, but I have such a problem finding ones which don't hurt my feet that I rarely ever wear them. How do other people handle shoes? I did pointe work for about three years and it's even harder to find stuff that's comfy now than it was before.

Now theres a huge gap in my wardrobe that I just didnt really notice.
My shoes are: 3 pairs of scaffy trainers, blue suede slingback kickers (they count as my smart shoes, cause they have wee heels) and docs that are permantely attached.

I just try to avoid the need for smart shoes at all costs. They do not exist- one's that wont hurt your feet after a few whirls of the gay gordons. I also have a pair of little dusty pink things that just have the 2 inch wide bit across the foot- how the hell are you supposed to keep them on?
