"Daddy, can I have my Christmas present early?"
"Sure son, how does Sky TV sound?"
"Cool, then I can watch footy and *really* great reality tv shows about people called Miriam..."

Rupert Murdoch's son James has landed a new job - chief executive of the TV company his dad is chairman of.

Is there anyone out there who doesn't think this is nepotism? Isn't it a bit off for a publically limited company to offer its shareholders such little choice - "Your new chief executive can be chosen from a list of one, and he's the son of the chairman"? What implications do you think this has for UK telly?
