Blind writers

Hi, does anyone know any good blind writers? I'm interested in how they describe things without using visual senses.

You should have a look at Diane Ackerman's "Natural History of the Senses". She quotes a lot from Helen Keller's experiences as well as giving lots of information on synthaesia and the like.
