Hey look, it's me!

Concert Ruined by Guy Enjoying Himself

The drunk guy pictured is the editor-in-chief of the Onion, funnily enough.

This would have been an EXCELLENT post had it not turned up 3 times.

Actually, it's still pretty funny.

can we call you brian grant now?
how did this happen?

comments:

That was pretty funny. Except for the fact that I'm usually the one making an over-enthusiastic arse of myself in front of numerous unimpressed 20-somthings.

[Desperate wannabe writer] How do you get accepted by the Onion anyway? Do you have to work for them or what? [/desperate wannabe writer]

Sadly they don't accept writers...

Very funny, and congratulations. I sheepishly confess that I the type of person who genuinely seethes at the overenthusiastic.

Oh my God! I read this article this morning and didn't really pay attention to the picture! That's wicked, BiaS!

Aww shucks, thanks...

BTW this is my only payment for taking the Onion's trash out every Monday for a summer, other than a letter of recommendation...!

Shit whose shadowy Martian pyramid-face do you think that is?

Weird. I was just reading that story when Oneida came on the radio and I realized one of the characters was named Grant, who was at an Oneida show.

Struck me as mildly odd at the time.

Oneida were on the radio?? Be sure to kiss the DJ for me.

This is something of a coincidence for me also, seeing as how my own enthusiastic behaviour at an Oneida concert was recently reported in a national magazine, and I recieved a copy of their new album today and am listening to it as I read this thread.

"It's too bad someone got mad," Froemer said. "But when the band started playing 'Sheets Of Easter,' I went nuts. It's 15 minutes, two notes, and it runs over you like a monster truck. I mean, shit—that band is seriously fucking awesome!"

I'm sorry world. I didn't realise I was being an Onion 'annoying person' cliche.

added: "Oh, yeah. And he kept yelling 'Rock 'n' roll!' in my face. And once he screamed 'Stooges!' I had no idea at all why he did that."

In all fairness I tend to not to actually yell into people's faces. That would be rude.

Still though, ouch.
