| | | I've been reading through the whole Seven Soldiers project, and this mini was by far my favorite. It's unlike anything GM's done before, in the way it seamlessly blends some of his craziest meta magickal exploration stuff with a very grounded emotional arc for our heroine. I loved her relationship with Misty, it's like Gilmore Girls meets Buffy. The final issue in particular was a perfect fusion of Morrison meta-craziness and the very emotional place of We3. Zatanna's reunion with her father and the revelation about the books is the sort of thing that could come off as cheesy, but worked perfectly and had me a little bit misty eyed.
I talked a lot more about the issue, and the other Seven Soldiers stuff over on my blog. I would love an ongoing Zatanna series by Morrison and Sook, I just want to spend more time with this character and her world.
