UNPOP, Brighton, Saturday 9 April

If anyone is in Brighton this Saturday night between the hours of 8 and 11, why not come to Unpop, upstairs at the Penthouse?

The basic Unpop brief has been described as: Weird anti pop hits, pop music with a glitch in its component parts from Daphne and Celeste to DJ Assault.

I'm lucky enough to be playing some tunes as a guest DJ this week. Unfortunately I don't have any Daphne and Celeste or DJ Assault, but I may play music by some or all of the following: No Lay, M.I.A., The Knife, Ol' Dirty Bastard, Le Tigre, The Slits, Annie, The Kills, Miss Kittin, Mu, El-P & Ghostface, The Faders, and others. Sort of a mix of shallow pop, annoying hipster rock and needlessly aggressive hip hop, then.

Would be great to see the Brighton crowd again...

I've told a mate of mine about it and she's going to go with some of her friends so it better be good!

Ooh, might just make it out of the house for once. Too poor for We (heart) Pop, so this may well be the fix I need...

I have some friends in town with nothing to do, so we may well drop in, if nobody minds.

I will be the one smoking in the corner with long brown hair, glasses and pretty flat shoes.
