I have a room. Me! I do! And it's only £360 PCM (bills included!). Available in 2 weeks. However, it's in Greenwich, SE10, so that might not be quite where you want to be.

Meem does have a nice house, complete with a dvd and cd collection to be violently jealous over. It's a good location and you can get into the city using the DLR quite comfortably.

A friend of mine has a room going shortly in Homerton (E9) - nice house, paved garden, not sure on rent (4-500, probably). PM me if you're interested and I'll check. It's on Chelmer Road, I think, just off Coopersale Rd (3 mins walk to High St).

www.gumtree.com and London Craigslist are good places to check out. I found an ok place with Gumtree when I needed a place quickly, but be prepared to share with antipodeans :).
