Smallville slash?

So I've noticed that when Smallville is mentioned, people keep mentioning how they want to see Clark and Lex finally lock lips in a fit of passion. It seems a number of people had the same fond wish.

This place can make those dreams come true.

"You're a Sex God," Clark said, his voice vibrating in Lex's ear.

"Why thank you, Clark. I may have to add that title to my business cards."

The mind boggles.

ok, not too bad yet, but Im already a bit wary - looks like the classic opening for a cheesy sex scene/pillow talk session.

quote:"You're a Sex God,"

ok, that cinches a great big "yark"

seriously

quote:Clark said, his voice vibrating in Lex's ear.

by itself not so awful but coupled with the above line, it simply becomes a drizzling of cheese on a cheese souffle

quote:"Why thank you, Clark. I may have to add that title to my business cards."

this could be read as sarcasm, which, when used as a response to the above statement, would normally elicit a giggle from this reader. however, in keeping with the tone of it all Id have to guess its intent is sarcasm-free and effectively sets the whole thing into cheese-overdrive

Yeah. It's the whole gone-off-dairy product aspect.

I think the whole thing is done in tones of light irony, rather than sarcasm, including Clark's comment. There's always a place for humour in the bedroom. Especially vitreous humour.

you are right

I know certain things have been said that, if written down and read out of the context of being there would seem downright hilariously stupid

oh, I have to get a tape recorder
