I remember hearing not too long ago about a scientist who was studying time travel in SoCal, working for the government. He told a friend one day that he had made a huge breakthrough, and then he disappeared. Does anyone know who I'm talkingabout? I'd love to read more about this guy.

It's not this guy is it? Frankly he sounds like a nut. Still, it's always nice to find a new site full of mad consiracy theories and abovetopsecret has also decided to completely rip off disinformation's design, which entertains me... Holographic theories of time/space travel also appeal to me (and sound very familiar)!
