Oh my god. I'm so sorry. The last time I looked this was me gushing about the proclaimers, please please lock and/or delete this thread, I never meant it to be this way.

It's your own fault for embracing the bleak, Calvinist sentiments in the lyric in the first place, Mr Q. The Reid brothers it's not OK to like were on about a life of harsh, manly self-flagellation that never does anyone any favours, really - karmically then, everything that surrounds them these days is, up to a point, going to be difficult.

It seems a bit beside the point now, but I never liked the tune very much either.

Did you know Lou and Andy, the characters, were originally supposed to be Lou Reed and Andy Warhol?

No, I didn't. But I can just about see it, if the Warhol being satirised is the post-Solanis version.

All the same, I wonder if Lucas and Walliams, seeing as the pair of them actually ought to be shot, have earned the right to have a go at even the Wurzels really, never mind the guys at The Factory.

But I suppose it doesn't really matter - complaining about material on the level of 'Little Britain' is a bit like complaining when it rains.

Or when flesh eating rats invade your home.

I still like the proclaimers though.

I've been listening to Sunshine On Leith and it's great.
