So we're not going crazy and suggesting that dinosaurs (apart from birds) survived into the 13th century - we're just claiming that they lived through the ice age. If there were dinosaurs going around being predators, why do you suppose there would be saber toothed cats?

Not that I agree with corecase, but if there are lions in todays world, why do you suppose there are also wolves?

Simple answer: they occupy different ecological or geographical niches. The same is *theoretically* possible with dinosaurs, but 65 million years is a pretty looooong time, and I have trouble believing that any species which did survive it would continue to walk the extinction line for the next 500 thousand-odd centuries.

This is an amazing thread. Can we move it to the Lab? Discussing non-traditional arithmetic can be explored with quantum electrodynamics and the absence of dragons in the 13th century fossil record and the Patriarchal nature of science is *clearly* Lab material.
